PANEL DISCUSSION AT LEAF INTERNATIONAL FORUM 2019
Oliver Kupfner, partner and lead architect, will participate in the panel discussion “A picture of health-integrating wellness in design” alongside Francesca Galeazzi (Arup Germany), Peter Harris (SUSD), DaeWha Kang (DaeWha Kang Design), and Anadelia Robles (5+design) on October 24th at 3.20 p.m. as part of LEAF International Forum in Berlin, Germany.
LECTURE AT THE SCOTT SUTHERLAND SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
57'10 Lecture Series, a student driven collective, invites professionals from across the world to host lectures at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment (Robert Gordon University) in Aberdeen, Scotland. As part of this semester’s line-up Martin Lesjak (INNOCAD) will hold a lecture on Thursday, October 17th at 5 p.m. alongside other guest speakers such as James Whitaker (Whitaker Studio), Victor Enrich and Peter Murray.
JURY AND TALK AT GAD AWARDS 2019
Martin Lesjak is a juror alongside Hilde Léon and Massimo Bricocoli at Graz Architecture Diploma Awards 2019 of the Faculty of Architecture at Graz University of Technology, selecting the best master thesis projects of the past academic year. The Award Ceremony GAD Awards 2019 will be held on October 3rd, 7pm at Aula, Rechbauerstraße 12/1 in Graz. He will also give a short presentation about INNOCAD’s holistic approach to architecture starting at 7.15pm.
PANEL DURING NYCxDESIGN ON OUR NEW, SCIENCE-BASED DESIGN
During NYCxDESIGN, a panel event moderated by Metropolis Magazine’s Avinash Rajagopal will take place, in which experts of science, design, and manufacturing will share breakthroughs built on decades of research, offering holistic design thinking that seeks to bring nature’s calming effects to our built environments. Based on their transdisciplinary approach, Anastasija and Martin Lesjak with their 13&9 Design team worked closely with Dr. Richard Taylor, professor of physics, psychology and art at the University of Oregon and founder of Fractals Research, to create the next generation of flooring solutions for Mohawk Group. LECTURE AT MUSEUM ARCHITECTURE SYMPOSIUM IN KHARKIV
The Museum Architecture Symposium on May 14 at Kharkiv School of Architecture will discuss the current situation and prospects of the museum industry and elaborate on the new role of museums in Ukraine, as well as the cooperation between museum curators and architects in transforming traditional museums into a platform for dialogue within local communities. Martin Lesjak´s lecture will cover the design process of History Museum Graz, presenting alongside Gil Cloos from Querkraft Architekten, Oleg Drozdov from Drozdov&Partners, Yuliia Lytvynets from National Art Museum of Ukraine, and Tetiana Pylypchuk from Kharkiv Literature Museum.
TURN ON FESTIVAL 2019
Viennese Architecture Festival Architekturfestival TURN ON anually elaborates on the various design strategies of Austrian architects. The festival´s lectures operate at the interface between architecture and economy, carrying on the dialog. INNOCAD´s keynote, in cooperation with Lindner Group, will cover the design process of C&P Corporate Headquarters, currently announced as finalist for ArchDaily´s “Building of the Year 2019.”
KEYNOTE AT HEIMTEXTIL 2019
To start the new year, we are happy to announce that Martin Lesjak will be a keynote speaker for Design Dialog’s “The Future of Furniture Fabrics” at Heimtextil in Frankfurt on January 8th. His presentation will cover INNOCAD and 13&9 Design’s holistic approach and transdisciplinary lab, which merges and implements a variety of creative fields. IMPACT SPEAKERS AT LIGHTFAIR INTERNATIONAL IN CHICAGO
Anastasia Su and Martin Lesjak were impact speakers at LIGHTFAIR® International, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference sponsored by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD)! They discussed their transdisciplinary approach, vision and international response to their work at McCormick Place in Chicago, USA.
Co- Founders and Art Directors of the transdisciplinary design lab, which includes INNOCAD Architecture and 13&9 Design, have been presented alongside this year’s LIGHTFAIR® International keynote speakers, Danielle Feinberg, lighting artist for many of Pixar’s Animation Studios films and Hugh Herr, head of the Biomechatronics group at the MIT Media Lab.
