art work in collaboration with Esther Stocker
new banking / new work configuration / powerful identity / open workplace / wooden storage and furnishing units / free-flowing space / spatial continuum / maximum of openness and flexibility
For a four-story, double-wing, zig-zag shaped office building, planned by architect Christian Rübbert, the design strategy focused on a future orientated workplace bound to the client’s geographic and corporate identity. Resulting solutions included customized wooden communication and dwelling furniture units that echo the surrounding mountain landscape, developing a multifunctional “New Work” system that also offers storage space. Another component that contributes to the identity of the project is a commissioned “Wall Work” by artist Esther Stocker, placed on the central building cores composing an outstanding four-story room sculpture. From this, the spatial continuum interplays between core areas and the angular layout, permitting intimacy with maximum openness and flexibility. Meeting rooms, retreat rooms, telephone booths, and sitting niches divide the wide space and create a sequence of open group offices. The ground floor is both internal and external communication area, including conference rooms, bank branch, coffee shop and a nursery with an aim to facilitate multiple customer and employee experiences. Executed with bergundtal architects, the interior elevates beyond its definition and purpose, offering a holistic perspective to local, social and personal relevance.
