The use of a barcode as a structured design element, already employed by INNOCAD at exhibition stands and at the XAL competence center, is transformed again as a unique design moment. INNOCAD created a new layer inspired by the barcode above the ceiling and the longitudinal wall of the XAL canteen. The resultant space is a room that combines the existing structures (columns, doorway, etc.) with this new application and is divided to form three areas: restaurant, bar and lounge. The barcode design is made with alternating perforated and smooth ceiling and wall elements. Those elements also improve the acoustics significantly.
