NEW CONSTRUCTION OF A MIXED USE BUILDING IN GRAZ

multi-purpose building / high-quality housing / adjacent to riverbank / dynamic folded glass façade / flats with loggias towards the river / penthouses with roof terraces / recreational inner courtyard
High-quality housing, offices and commercial premises have been compressed into a compact urban multifunctional building located on a central site directly on the riverbank of Mur. Two different typologies meet the special requirements of the property. The first building unit accommodates three commercial and office floors densely stacked beneath three housing floors with a linking access corridor, all connected by a dynamic folded moss-green glass façade on the street side. The second building structure provides flats with generous loggias facing the waterside and the greenbelt along the river. Various housing sizes ranging from smaller units to large two-story penthouses with generous roof terraces emphasizes the urban character of the project. The inner courtyard and the paths on different levels connect the building units and serve as communication and resting zones and quiet areas simultaneously.

ABB FROZEN MUSIC EPISODE
At our new hotel building, THE ROCK - Radisson RED Vienna, we implemented ABB products for controlling and adjusting lighting, sun shading and temperature in the rooms as well as the public areas. The Swedish-Swiss company collaborated with us on the #17 episode of Frozen Music, a video series that presents unique building projects and the architects behind them to their global community. Katrin Förster thematized the design approach in an interview with CEO Martin Lesjak and project lead Oliver Kupfner, as well as relevant topics such as added social values.
