using the steel structure from the sixties / maximum transparency / blue-toned glass façade / flexible and functional
In a fine example of adaptive-reuse architecture, the INNOCAD team used the existing frame of this nineteen-sixties building for a new office complex, the headquarters of the Voestalpine Austria Draht. By rethinking the space separate from its original use the team added a floor and clad the building with a blue-toned glass facade. Flexible, functional units were created for the space with the company‘s organization in mind. The design leverages transparency and both the static and technical structural elements of the building. The shimmering light of this blue cuboid is striking providing an outstanding atmospheric effect on the interiors.
