COMPETITION ENTRY FOR NEW CENTER FOR PROMOTION OF SCIENCE IN BELGRAD

competition: entry 2010

international competition / center for promotion of science / concept of fractal - finding new directions / breaking the block / infinity as a cosmic benchmark and an attribute of human knowledge / self-similarity / folding levels / intelligent skin

“Although the existing scientific terms apply in each case only to a very limited part of reality, the other part that is not yet clarified, remains infinite.” Werner Heisenberg, physicist and philosopher. The term infinity, as a cosmic benchmark and as an attribute of human knowledge, marked the beginning of the design process for the CFPOS. Using the style of self-similarity, where the whole design is exactly or is similar to a part of itself and can be found everywhere in nature, is the main characteristic of the CFPOS. The fractal of the Sierpinski triangle establishes the geometrical basis for shape, organization, structure, proportion, texture and design of the entire building.
